Electrical Engineering offered by Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology aims to teach the modern application of electrical engineering through the well-equipped industry interface academics. This program aims to build excellent problem solving skills in fields of electrical & industrial automation. Under this course you will study about navigation systems, electric motors, broadcast systems, communication systems, power generation systems, electrical distribution systems. The academics is designed in a such a way that a student gets well equipped with industry skills while preparing them with safety, quality and Economical feasibility of a product while developing it. PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems using research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional engineering practice.

PEO1: Ability to generalize fundamental domain knowledge while working with electronic equipment/systems to handle engineering problems in professional career.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Tech

All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one the following subjects:

Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology.

OR

Those candidates who have passed their 10th or 10+2 examination with science stream and have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), or such examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education.

OR

The candidates who have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.

Lateral Entry to B.Tech

Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering / Technology with 50% marks in aggregate (for SC / ST 40%) or equivalent grade point.

Candidates who have only passed Diploma in any branch of Engineering / Technology are eligible for admission.
